You're under 18. Here's what's still possible.

Virginia has a hard age rule for Medication Aide registration, but it covers less than you might think. Here's exactly where you stand and what you can do right now.

The rule

Virginia requires you to be 18 to register and test.

No exceptions, regardless of CNA status. The state exam (administered by PSI) can't be taken before your 18th birthday, and the Board of Nursing won't issue your Medication Aide registration until you turn 18.

What you can still do

The 18 rule applies to registering and testing, not training.

That means there's a real path forward depending on where you are today:

You have an active Virginia CNA You can apply to this course today. Complete the training, hold your certificate of completion, and register with the Board of Nursing the moment you turn 18.
Apply now
You don't have a CNA yet CNA training is the prerequisite anyway, and most VA CNA programs let you start at 16 or 17. The clean path is CNA first, then Medication Aide here once you're ready.
