Assisted living communities in Prince William, Fairfax, and Loudoun compete for certified medication aides harder than anywhere else in the state, and the pay reflects it. The catch has always been getting the training: most programs mean driving into Fairfax or Alexandria after a shift. Our Manassas location puts the in-person days in Prince William County and moves everything else online.
We serve students from Manassas, Manassas Park, Bristow, Gainesville, Haymarket, Woodbridge, Dale City, Centreville, Chantilly, and Fairfax.

How the program works for Manassas students
- 40 hours live online classroom over Zoom. Day cohort: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Evening cohort: Monday to Saturday, 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
- 20 hours supervised skills practice in person in Manassas, one instructor per 10 students.
- 8-hour insulin administration module, in person.
- Exam preparation in every unit. You’re eligible to test as a Medication Aide after completing the program.

Your clinical days in Manassas
Your in-person skills practice, the insulin module, and the final exam day take place at a Commonwealth Senior Living partner community in the Manassas area. You pick Manassas as your location when you enroll, and we confirm the site, dates, and what to bring before your first in-person day. In-person days run during daytime hours for both cohorts.
Prince William and Fairfax employers
Turnover in Northern Virginia senior living is expensive, and med aide vacancies are the ones that force nurses onto the med cart. Reserve seats for your CNAs in the October cohort or run a private cohort for your community. Communities that host clinical hours get first access to graduates. Talk to us about an employer cohort.
One fee. Everything in.
$925 covers all 68 hours of tuition, training materials, clinical coordination at the Manassas partner site, your certificate of completion, background check, and instructor access with exam-prep support. Pay in full or split with Klarna. The credential typically lifts hourly pay $3 to $6 over a CNA rate in assisted living, so most students recoup the fee within one to two months of starting the new role.

I work in Fairfax or Loudoun. Is Manassas my closest Apex site?
Yes. Manassas is our Northern Virginia location. Because only the skills days, insulin module, and exam day are in person, most Fairfax and Loudoun students find the drive manageable.
Is the class offered in Spanish or another language?
Instruction and the Virginia state exam are in English. Our instructors regularly teach students for whom English is a second language and build in extra time on medication terminology and documentation.
What do medication aides earn in Northern Virginia?
Northern Virginia assisted living rates run above the state average. Check current postings for Manassas, Fairfax, and Woodbridge communities to see the local range; the credential typically adds $3 to $6 an hour over the CNA rate at the same community.
